Rani comes from a background in sports management & applied functional science, and boasts 16 years of experience in the youth sports development industry. In that time he has successfully spearheaded the launch of soccer academies in both the Middle East & the Gulf. He recently moved to Charlotte in 2014 and has been pivotal in establishing both the Queen City Mutiny and Charlotte Futsal as Development Academy entities in their respective US Federations.
Academy and Technical Director
Jose, a native of Barcelona holds a UEFA Pro License, along with a degree in soccer and methodology directed under the RFEF. During this time he was ranked 1st in specific training methodology for youth development. Jose has 18 years of coaching experience at both the professional and youth levels, and 8 years of experience as a technical and academy director of youth teams in Spain (Barcelona), and has coached all over the world, including Thailand, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Canada. Jose sets the curriculum and methodology for the entire club and overlooks all the coaching staff and teams to ensure it is strictly implemented throughout all the age groups.
Assistant Academy Director & Head Coach U13/U14 DA
Chris was born in Ashford, Middlesex, England and grew up playing youth soccer for Aldershot Town. He moved to the US in 2006 to coach and attend college. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Chris moved to North Carolina to continue his coaching career, as Technical Director of ICRD, before moving on to Twin City Youth Soccer, where he had a combined role as the boys Director of Coaching and also the head coach of the NC Fusion U12 Development Academy team. In 2017 Chris was hired by Queen City Mutiny and is currently the Assistant Academy Director and also head coach for the U13/U14 DA squads. Chris is dedicated to his continuous professional development within the US Federation and is in the process of taking his USSF A license.
Head Coach U12 DA
Allen is a Charlotte native, and as a player won many accolades, such as the Charlotte Observer player of the year, NCSCA all state selection as a senior at high school, and even played in the NCSCA East-West all star game. Allen is Lake Norman’s all time leading scorer and went on to have a great playing career at Wilmington. He began coaching in his senior year and has been a lynchpin at the club ever since its inception. Allen is one of the clubs most recognizable faces and has been heavily involved with the Development Academy teams.
Head Coach U11 Pre-DA & Assistant Coach U13 DA
Rafael has been with the club since 2016 and has had the unique opportunity of working with every age group throughout that time from pre-academy through to the DA. He has proven to be an integral part of the coaching staff at Queen City Mutiny, taking on a variety of coaching and administrative roles and responsibilities both on and off the pitch.
Marc Kevin Schwenk
Head Coach U11 Pre-DA & U13 CCL
Marc grew up playing soccer in Berlin, Germany. He played for Hertha 03 the official youth affiliate of VFL Wolfsburg and during that time he played alongside many noticeable players such as John Brooks (US National Team), Antonio Rüdiger (Chelsea & German National Team). Marc is an inspirational leader of players and has been working closely with both the youth academy and Development academy groups over the past few seasons.
Head Coach U10 and U14 DA Assistant
Omar was born in Beirut, Lebanon. After competing in numerous tournament in High School at the American Community School of Beirut and winning the Regional EMAC tournament in Cairo, Omar underwent an undergraduate degree of Exercise and Sport Science at the university of Manchester Metropolitan in the United Kingdom. Omar also played for Staybridge Celtic and Curzon Ashton among other clubs and competed in the UK’s most prestigious FA Cup during the completion of his undergraduate degree. Upon graduating, Omar signed for a professional soccer club in Saudi Arabia, where he enjoyed 3 fruitful years in the country's Premier division. Omar then moved to North Carolina to head up a Goalkeeper Development franchise to train goalkeepers of various ages and abilities to reach their full potential. He has also completed his F, E, and D coaching badges and aims to start his C license by late 2018. In 2017, Omar joined Queen City Mutiny's staff and has become a proud member of the club's evolution and ambition to become one of the best academies in the country.
