Queen City Mutiny is "All In" for the Carolina Development League
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Queen City Mutiny announces its commitment to continued involvement in the U11 and now expanded U12 Carolina Development League for the upcoming 2019-2020 Season.
US Soccer has implemented the continuation of player development and growth with the Development Academy path commencing with the U13 year of play for the 2019-2020 season.
In an effort to allow high level players in North Carolina and South Carolina the opportunity to be better prepared for the opportunity to play in US Soccer’s Development Academy, in conjunction with US Soccer the six (6) Development Academy clubs in the Region: Queen City Mutiny, North Carolina FC, NC Fusion, Carolina Rapids, Carolina Soccer Academy and Discoveries Soccer Club created the U11 Carolina Development League (www.carolinadevelopmentleague.com). The Carolina Development League provides a platform for weekly league play and showcase tournament play throughout the season for Pre-Development Academy players.
“The value of the opportunity to play weekly against the best teams and talent from the Development Academy clubs cannot be discounted,” Jose Jimenez, Academy and Technical Director – UEFA Pro License. “Allowing young players the opportunity to test the concepts and ideas they work on during training in weekly games with high level competition is the crucible from which on the field decision making and player development are born and nurtured” Rani Ghaziri, Executive Director.
The success of the initial season of the U11 Carolina Development League is now being expanded to incorporate the U12 year of play for the 2008 birth year in the upcoming 2019-2020 season. Expanding the Carolina Development League for U11 and U12 along with the other six (6) US Soccer Development Academy clubs in the NC / SC Region provides players with the continued opportunity to learn, grow and develop prior to entry into the Development Academy in U13.
US Soccer has announced the expansion of the Girl’s Development Academy membership for 2019-2020 and plans to announce the expansion of the Boy’s Development Academy in the coming weeks. The 2019-2020 regular season and event schedule will be released by June 1, 2019.
